Born and raised in Tonga, Anau moved to NZ in March, 2014. She began work as a Support Worker for Pacific Homecare in 2016 and has been recognised this month for her exceptional work and commitment to the job.
As a devoted Christian Anau enjoys spending her free time going out to the community spreading the word and work of God.
“I like to go out to the community to help people and share the love of God,” she says.
Working with our elderly and disabled is fulfilling for Anau because she sees it as part of spreading the work of God.
When asked what she likes most about the work she does, Anau responded “helping my customers to make them feel happy and feel safe and healthy”.
She also stated “doing my job carefully and professionally helps them (customers) live longer”
Even though life at home with a husband and five sons can be busy, Anau enjoys fulfilling her role as a mother at the end of her working day.
She enjoys her role as a Support Worker and fondly remembers growing up in Tonga as a young girl, going from village to village with her dad preaching the word of God.
