That’s a wrap for Pacific Homecare’s Matua Ola Manuia Market Days! Another successful collaboration with Vaka Tautua. MC and Fia Ola Coordinator, Taua Malaetele, welcomed the event alongside the Director of Whānau Ora Services, Rauna Murray-Stowers.
We saw our Fia Ola mamas and papas from the Cook Island, Samoan, Tongan, Niuean and Fijian/Indian groups come together to celebrate, sell their handmade crafts and reconnect with one another.
From wall hangings, pillows and tivaevaes to ei katu’s, baskets and plants, there was an item for everyone to purchase and enjoy. With many of the crafts selling out, it was a successful market day for our groups. To add to the fun, the sun was beaming, there were no clouds in the sky and the day was warm. It was the perfect weather to dance, venture to the market and enjoy the day.
A big thank you to everyone who came to the market day, supported our elderly groups and purchased their handmade items. It was a day to remember.
