The year has sure flown by! With there being only a few months left of 2022, Pacific Homecare recently congratulated Support Worker, Akanesi Tapaevalu, on being the Employee of the Month for October.

A married, mother of six, Akanesi shares a bit of her story, and her role as a Support Worker.

“My name is Akanesi Tapaevalu. I’m from the biggest prettiest continent which you all know is TONGA. I’m married with 6 children. I didn’t get any qualification from school, but my dad always taught me to work hard and to love others”.

Working hard and loving others are true traits Akanesi puts into her job. After completing both Levels 2 and 3 in a Health and Well-being course, these studies aided her in caring for our elderly customers, which she really enjoys. Saying her favourite part about working for Pacific Homecare is, “when I go out to the community and meet with different people and different nationalities.”

An inspiration to all who work alongside and are cared for by Akanesi. What inspires her at work is the friendships she has developed with her co-workers. “On some days that I feel sad…some of my workmates give me the advice to look forward to, so I feel like having the strength to continue on. Not only that but we learn from each other while we are working, we share our ideas and we learn a lot.

An amazing inspiration, Support Worker, and friend. Well done Akanesi!
