Recently, the wife of a customer emailed the team to thank Pacific Homecare for their services and especially praise Support Worker Elisa Pati for the care she provided her husband five days a week. She said that regardless of the bad and emotional times her husband faced, Elisa came in every day and made him comfortable during service. She consistently showed up and articulated when completing tasks and providing his medication.

“I found Elisa very helpful and attentive towards my husband. I do hope that Elisa is acknowledged for all the support, love, and care for my husband”.

Compassionate and consistent, Elisa demonstrates the true virtues of a hard worker and a considerate individual. Born and raised in Samoa, Elisa migrated to New Zealand in 1982. Forty-three years later, she is married with two children and two grandchildren. As part of the Botany Samoan Methodist Church, Elisa focuses on serving God and participating in Sunday school, Women’s fellowship, and prayer groups.

As a Support Worker, Elisa loves her job, especially working with people from different ethnicities.

“Our customers are highly important. We try to meet their needs and expectations and, at the same time, make them happy.  I care for their safety and always look out for the safety hazards and attend to them.”

Interacting with customers is a highlight of Elisa’s workday. Talking with them, giving assurance of their service, and fulfilling their needs in a daily professional care perspective are what she enjoys most about her role.

When asked who inspires her at work, Elisa responded with the customers she serves. “The customers inspire me to see them every day through their needs. I make sure they are happy and satisfied, which in turn inspires me more to make a happy difference in their day.”

Elisa describes Pacific Homecare as a professional, caring, and supportive organisation. These three words she focuses on embodying in her work are the same three words her customers and their families identify her as. We are proud to have awarded her our March Employee of the Month.
