Talanika Afoa is a perfect example of someone who loves his job and spreads joy with each task he takes on. A married father of two from Samoa, Talanika has worked as a Support Worker at Pacific Homecare (PHC) since 2008. With 15 years in the workforce, continuously providing services with a positive attitude and compassionate heart, it’s no surprise that customers and their families took notice of Talanika’s kindness.
Nominated by the family members of a Pacific Homecare customer, Talanika was recognised for the quality services he provides, which are a result of the respect he exudes. He has continued to provide excellent physical support, household tasks and personal care on a day-to-day basis. When asked about who inspires him to work, he said our PHC customers. “They are the reasons why I’m at work 6 days a week. I haven’t been able to care for my parents when they were alive. Our people need us by giving them the best of our ability to do the job not only to support our families financially and also our company.”
Just like the values that he delivers in his day-to-day work, Talanika’s three words to describe Pacific Homecare is love, care and professionalism. His dedication to his job all these years has made an amazing impact on the lives of each customer he serves.
Well done Talanika! Thank you for being such a positive light in our customers’ lives.
