Support Worker, Suman Lata Singh was recently congratulated as Pacific Homecare’s Employee of the Month (EOM) for May.

An extraordinary Support Worker to our customers and a reliable employee to this organisation, it was only natural for her to be our latest EOM. We chatted with Suman to get to know her better and learn about what she enjoys about being a Support Worker.

As a 49-year old mum of three daughters, Suman immigrated to Aotearoa from Fiji in 2009. In 2015, she took on the role of a Support Worker at Pacific Homecare and quickly adored the profession as it gave her the flexibility to be a mum to her daughters, while also supporting our customers.

“We have a friendly team who are very supportive and help me where needed. As a mum, they understand my needs and are flexible with me. They treat me with care and kindness.”

In her role, Suman developed great relationships with the staff and customers, which she says motivates her in her everyday life. “Meeting new people and forming connections is what inspires me. I love to help and support people. My job gives me great satisfaction and I enjoy working in my role.”

When describing Pacific Homecare in three words, Suman said: supportive, friendly and kind. The way Suman gives her all to care for our customers, speaks volumes as we believe those three words describe her perfectly.
