We congratulate Malouamaua on being PHCARE’s Employee of the Month for December 2021. From the beautiful island of Samoa, she ventured over to Aotearoa in 1997 where she met her husband and had four bundles of joy! Three boys and one girl, saying “the sister is the boss” haha.
Malouamaua began her role as a Support Worker and quickly took on the skills by observing older employees.
“I don’t take my role lightly, I love it! It’s a good way to communicate with the community, especially the elderly”.
Malouamaua’s grandparents (her Father’s parents & Mother’s father) unfortunately passed on before she was born. Here, she said it can get emotional as the lovely Mamas and Papas she cares for remind her of her own. Although, serving the elderly customers helps Malouamaua connect with them and keep close to her own grandparents. Growing her family day by day!
Although there are many inspirations we may have in life, there’s one we often forget about – ourselves. Malouamaua says she is her own motivation.
“I do the job mostly by myself…if you are by yourself you can tell yourself that you can do it. It’s your preparation for the day.”
Thank you Malouamaua for your heart of service. We admire your strength, love and support to each and every one of our customers.
