EOM_Feb2017Amandeep Kaur relocated with her family to New Zealand from India in 2013. Initially working in a factory, she found more rewarding work when she joined Pacific Homecare as a Support Worker in March 2016. Known to be very cooperative, committed and always available upon request, Amandeep is our Employee of the Month for February.

Tell us a little bit about your background
Born and raised in India, I came to New Zealand in 2013 with my husband and two children. When I arrived to NZ I was working in a factory, but I was looking for more rewarding work and started looking. Now I am working for Pacific Homecare and am very happy where I am as I get to help others. I also just received my NZ residency which is very exciting.
What sorts of things do you do in your job?
I do a combination of personal care and household tasks.
Tell us about your clients / a normal day in your job?
Assisting clients with a range of tasks including their showering, exercise, cleaning their home environments and meal preparation.
What training have you completed at Pacific Homecare?
Pacific Pathways, safety in the workplace, safe food handling, basic manual handling.
What do you like most about working at Pacific Homecare?
Working with the clients and ensuring they are happy.

My father
At the end of your working day, what do you like to do?
Pick my children up from school, go home and cook for my family, then relax.
