Rarotonga Home Healthcare Services is a Cook Islands–owned and operated organisation providing excellent nursing and care solutions for the Rarotonga community.
Established in 2022, the organisation stands proudly by its philosophy of Toku Nei Ora’anga Ora (TNOO): “My Health, My Life”. Backed by an experienced team of registered nurses and caregivers, Directors Maui Daniel and Tarina Moorfield founded the service with a vision to care for those who need it most — especially our mamas and papas and people living with disabilities.
In 2023, Pacific Homecare partnered with Rarotonga Home Healthcare through a three-year pilot sponsorship. Since then, we’ve seen firsthand the compassion and professionalism their team brings to every client.
As registered nurses from the Cook Islands, both Maui and Tarina have always been passionate about caring for people. While working at the local hospital, they noticed significant gaps in the system — patients endured long waiting hours, confidentiality and privacy were lacking, and they felt people’s dignity was often compromised.

The vision was simple: to provide immediate, accessible care for those who needed it most in the comfort of their own homes. To not only ease the strain on hospitals but also ensure that patients receive support that reflects their culture and personal needs.
With Pacific Homecare’s support, Maui and Tarina have been able to subsidise client costs, making quality care more affordable and accessible.
Maui and Tarina bring different nursing experiences to the table, but together they share one goal: delivering quality care for their community. Their teamwork and shared commitment have seen the organisation grow and flourish.
The rewards of their work are evident. Maui recalls the story of an elderly client who had not walked for a long time. Thanks to regular exercises and mobility support from Rarotonga Home Healthcare’s caregivers, she recently began walking again — a breakthrough moment for both client and family.
Such successes have built confidence not only with families but also with the Ministry of Health, which now works alongside Rarotonga Home Healthcare. They collaborate closely with GPs and have access to hospital systems to provide more seamless care.
Now in 2025, Rarotonga Home Healthcare supports 55 clients with a team of two nurses and five caregivers, and they’re looking to grow further. Services include immediate care, free advice, equipment hire, and paid support tailored to each client’s needs.

Their care even extends to visitors in Rarotonga. Maui shared the story of a visiting family whose father required extra support during their holiday. The team assessed his accommodation for safety, provided equipment, restocked his medication, and gave flexible nursing and caregiving support. His son later wrote:
“Your team was absolutely amazing — so helpful and flexible. You made it possible for my dad to enjoy the holiday with us. Couldn’t recommend you enough!” (Facebook, 2025).
Whether through word of mouth or Facebook, the organisation’s reputation continues to grow positively. Pacific Homecare is proud to support such a dedicated team whose love, care, and professionalism shine through in everything they do. We look forward to celebrating more of their stories and successes in the future.
