With the end of Term 2 here, our Whānau Ora Navigators and Ora’anga Team have been fortunate to have spent time with our Metua Pakari mamas and papas over the last month.

Navigator, Karaat, mentioned how wonderful it has been to join Coordinator, Haikiu, in picking up some of their members and running fortnightly Zumba classes.“Zumba Classes fortnightly has been a blast with our elderly’s lots of laughter and just lots of fun. Visitors coming through and really admiring the cultural singing and dancing.”

Our Ora’anga Team have also visited the Metua Pakari members, to share about mental health and how to look after themselves. Utilizing the five methods of well-being, which are, give, be active, keep learning, connect, and take notice.

With such an eventful last few weeks, the team have introduced their newest Whānau Ora Navigator, Sam Enuake Samuel Koteka, to the team. Here, he and Karaat will join Haikiu every Tuesday at Metua Pakari.

The team are excited to be sharing these times with our elderly and is eagerly awaiting their return when term 3 begins!
