Pacific Homecare’s Wellness Services (formerly known as Whānau Ora services) delivers a wide range of social supports, including Whānau Ora, Ora’anga (mental wellness support), and Matua Services for older people (which includes Fia Ola and Metua Pakari elderly day programme services).

Our Wellness Services team is dedicated to improving our communities’ overall well-being. In partnership with The Tatou Collective, Pacific Homecare continues to provide Whānau Ora services to vulnerable families – empowering them to achieve their goals.
Whānau Ora is a family-centred approach. It focuses on the family as a whole – building on their strengths and encouraging them to take ownership of their needs.

How Does It Work?
Ora'anga Services
Ora’anga Services is a FREE Pacific service designed for individuals and families experiencing mild to moderate mental distress – feelings of stress, worry, anxiety, or troubled more than usual.
Our Mission
To empower our Pacific community on what mental distress is and the support we can offer them culturally and holistically.
Our Aim
To increase the accessibility for Pacific People to access primary mental health services.
Our Outcome
To decrease mental distress within our Pacific communities.
Who is this service for?
This service is for Pacific people in the Auckland Central (ADHB) area experiencing mental distress. Children/young teenagers under 16 will need parent or guardian support to use the service.
What does our service provide?
- FREE tailor-made support focused on the individual or family (peer support, community support services).
- Tools and strategies to enable the individual or family to manage their mental distress and wellbeing (self-management education).
- We incorporate Pacific cultural worldviews, “ways of doing”, and relevant mental health approaches.
- Pacific staff who understand and can speak a Pacific Language.
How is the service delivered?
- Sessions with our clients. We meet with them fortnightly to gauge how well they are doing.
- Individual sessions and/or family sessions.
- Sessions via telephone or face-to-face.
