Pacific Homecare is excited to congratulate Support Worker, Kilisitina Latu Sikalu, on being named our October Employee of the Month.
Kilistina joined Pacific Homecare in November 2022 as a Support Worker. Out of sixteen applicants, she was one of eight chosen, and today, we are happy to say that she is still working with us. Her dedication and heart for her clients have stood out ever since.
A proud Tongan, Kilisitina is also a happy wife, a loving mother of four children, and a joyful grandmother to one grandson.
Family and faith guide everything she does, and that same warmth shines through in her work every day. “I like all parts of the job,” Kilisitina shares. “Whether I’m supporting clients living with dementia or helping around the house, I enjoy it all. I used to work as a day cleaner at Smith & Caugheys, so I’ve always loved keeping things tidy and making people happy. But what I really love most is doing personal care — showering, dressing, and helping our clients look beautiful and clean. The most important thing is making them happy.”
Our Homecare Support Services department describes Kilisitina as kind, reliable, and an excellent communicator who updates the office about her clients. She brings professionalism and compassion to everything she does.
When asked about someone who inspires her at work, Kilisitina immediately thinks of Service Coordination Lead, Fuli.
“I have respect for everyone, but I choose Fuli. Whenever she sees me here in the office, she always comes up to me and hugs me, asking how I am doing. It’s her positive attitude and personality that really got me. Ever since I started working, when she asks me to relieve, she always says please Tina can you go to (name of client) and the tone of her voice makes you never want to say no”.
We’re so grateful for the heart and humility Kilisitina brings to her role. She reminds us of what genuine care looks like — going above and beyond to make others feel valued, respected, and happy.
