Support Worker and Pacific Homecare’s July Employee of the Month, Sateki, has consistently demonstrated dedication to his role. His excellent communication skills make him a valued team member, as he takes the time to listen and respond to the needs of both staff and customers at Pacific Homecare. Sateki joined us from Tonga in December 2023, after being successful in the Pacific Access Category. At 43 years old, Sateki is a proud Tongan, happily married, and blessed with four children. He is known for going above and beyond to ensure that everyone receives the assistance they need, making a significant impact on the lives of those he serves. He says, “I work at Pacific Homecare, and my role is to support elderly people who need help. I assist with personal care, encouragement, and everyday tasks. I do my work with love, respect, and care for the people we support.” In addition to his professional skills, Sateki is recognised for his respectful and polite nature. His positive attitude and willingness to help create a supportive environment that benefits both staff and clients.
He shares, “My favourite part about working at Pacific Homecare is helping people. I enjoy supporting them to live well and be independent. I also appreciate the teamwork and caring environment.”
When asked about who inspires him at Pacific Homecare, Sateki reflected on a Senior Caregiver he once worked with, saying, “A senior caregiver at Pacific Homecare inspired me. She was always kind and patient with the elderly. She spoke to them with respect and made them feel safe and happy.” The values he saw in this caregiver are marked in how he interacts with each customer he serves. Regarding his recognition as Employee of the Month, Sateki stated, “It’s nice to be noticed, and I feel appreciated for the work we do. It motivates me to keep doing my best.” With love, care, and professionalism, we are proud to acknowledge how far he has come in his role and are delighted to call Sateki our July Employee of the Month.
