The Ora’anga Team has been engaging with our youth groups in our community to deliver our service, explain our purpose, and highlight the importance of talking about Mental Health. We have had the opportunity to present and conduct activities with a few youth groups, and our engagement so far has been nothing short of amazing.

Our goal for these sessions was to engage and be intentional in opening a safe space and changing the stigma in Mental Health in our Pasifika Communities. We made sure to create this space for them to share about Mental Health and how we can engage with family, friends, and our communities on how we can deal with everyday stresses. We provided tools they could use every day, such as the Five Tools of Wellbeing, the Fonofale Model, and the Talanoa model.

Ora’anga Navigator, Panapa, highlighted the humbled, respectful nature of the youth groups and how well-engaged they were with the sessions, even expressing how much they enjoyed it. Overall, it was a beautiful experience for our team.

We are grateful to all the groups we’ve engaged with for trusting us to facilitate these sessions and for the growth we have seen in the mindset of each individual and how they view mental health.
