Congratulations to Solosolo Vaka, our March Employee of the Month. Solosolo earned this award through the nomination of the staff here at Pacific Homecare, thanks to her unwavering dedication to assisting our most complex clients. Colleagues praise Solosolo for her consistently positive attitude, which ensures clients are always left satisfied.
Hailing from Tonga, Solosolo relocated to New Zealand with her family in 2016. Happily married with one daughter, she joined Pacific Homecare just last year, encouraged by her cousin Meliana, who serves as a Service Coordinator. Solosolo expresses her deep affection for her work at Pacific Homecare, citing her passion for helping others.
“I find fulfillment in meeting people’s needs, particularly those with disabilities,” Solosolo shares. She emphasizes the invaluable experience gained from her role, which she believes will prepare her to care for her own parents in the future.
Solosolo’s commitment extends beyond her job description; she frequently volunteers unpaid overtime to assist clients with various tasks at home. “I cannot refuse a client’s request for additional help,” she explains. “I imagine what it would be like for me to be in that position, and I would hope that there would be someone there to support me.”
