Nalini Kumar has become a popular name among our Employee of the Month nominations. Both Pacific Homecare customers and staff have praised her for the exceptional support and care she provides to her clients. One client’s family member has observed Nalini’s positive impact on their loved one’s life. They noted her patience and empathy and described her care as “nothing short of priceless.” This family member mentioned feeling reassured knowing their loved one is safe in Nalini’s care due to her nurturing nature and understanding.
Originally from the Fiji islands, Nalini moved to Auckland, Aotearoa, in 1996 alongside her husband and two sons. With her caring and loving personality, she found it easy to adjust to her new life in a new country and, later, her role as a Support Worker.
In 2017, Nalini began her time at Pacific Homecare and quickly grew passionate in her role. Saying,
“I love my role and being a Support Worker that helps those unable to do their day to day activities. I love to help make a difference in their lives. I make their lives brighter by entering and exiting each client’s home with a smile.”
Her favourite part of her work day is visiting her clients and having a support system with each of her co-workers. “Daily, I look forward to visiting my clients, so I am always punctual. In addition, I also appreciate the utmost support from my co-workers when needed. Everyone around my working zone helps in whatever way they can, and that’s all my favourites.”
When asked who inspires her at Pacific Homecare, Nalini replied with her entire team.
“My entire team’s contribution inspires me daily. They have a very friendly and caring approach, and this has helped me build who I am today, to visit my clients confidently and also with a professional approach to their care and needs.”
Nalini also reciprocates that and brings her commitment to work daily, consistently delivering extraordinary customer care. Her client of eight years expressed appreciation for her loving nature, stating, “Nalini is very honest and has a caring, loving attitude. She always goes above and beyond to help me. I highly recommend her.” We are extremely proud of Nalini’s contributions to Pacific Homecare. Her dedication to consistently providing high-quality care to each customer makes her truly deserving of our May Employee of the Month award.
