Born and bred in Niue, I arrived in New Zealand September 1960 and attended school at Mt Eden Normal High School in Newmarket. Who knows what has happened to the school or what it is called now? I only stayed in school for two years before I started working at the age of 14 at ETA. I got married in 1964 and moved to Samoa in 1978, living there for six years before moving back to New Zealand in 1984. I started work for Pacific Homecare in September 1996. I turn 70 this year and have been with Pacific Homecare for more than 20 years.
As a Support Worker I complete a combination of personal care and household tasks, assisting clients with showers, prepping meals, ironing their clothes and cleaning.
Working with clients, it is a challenge now getting to my age.
