Tell us a little bit about your background

Born in Tongatapu and raised in a small village named Veitongo, I come from a family of seven. I have four brothers and am the only girl. I arrived in New Zealand in 2006 and was a stay at home mother to three children. In 2013 I applied for work with Pacific Homecare, and it is safe to say, this was my first actual job since arriving here in NZ.

What sorts of things do you do in your job?

A combination of personal care and household tasks.

Tell us about your clients / a normal day in your job?

I assist with client care and take clients for a walk if they are not bed-ridden.

What training have you completed at Pacific Homecare?

Level 2 National Certificate in Community Support and Pacific Pathways literacy and numeracy training.

What do you like most about working at Pacific Homecare?

The friendly environment I get to work in. My colleagues and clients are respectful.

At the end of your working day, what do you like to do?

Go home and spend time with my children.

Someone who worked with the community. I didn’t care where. All I knew is that I wanted to help others.
