July, 2018

Thu 16 Aug 2018

While we are in the middle of winter, July actually brings us to a new start to our ‘New Service Year’. In the last Service year, Pacific Homecare completed approx. 248,000 of home base health and care support services for our elderly and people with disabilities in South Auckland.

So many thanks to our everyday leaders our Support CareWorkers who go into homes providing the care and support to our customers each day, working alongside them and our support team in the office made up of coordinators, navigators, administrators and managers, thank you so much, Faafetai lava, Malo Aupito, Vinaka Vaka levu, Namaste, Fakaaue lahi, meitaki maata e kia manuia.

Pretty amazing work we all do amongst our families and in our communities and yes we have to now do it all over again with just that little bit more love, that little bit more care, and that little bit more professionalism because you are an amazing team and it is certainly a privilege to serve alongside all of you.

To our Employee of the Month in July Taranika Afoa, congratulations and thank you so much for your service to our customers, your humility and attitude to support the customers are exemplary so well done, and thank you to your wife and family as well.

As you all know we also provide Whanau Ora Services to over 500 families in our communities and this has been a challenging service to support some of the more vulnerable families which we will be continuing to progress.

Our Navigators are working hard to provide the right support and responses to their needs as we progress these services into this new year. We also met with the government Whanau Ora review committee in late July to provide insights to what is working and what isn’t working. Thank You to Tatriana from F’INE, what an amazing speech, and to our Samoan aiga who also presented their views, not easy but well said.

In July this year our Pacific Homecare Board approved our New Strategic Plan for the next five years, after consultation with our customers, workforce, and
