Two years ago we welcomed Lota to the Pacific Homecare team, today we are very happy to award her the employee of the month for February. It is well deserved for her reliability and fabulous service.
We asked Lota a few questions to get to know her better. Here’s what she said.
My name is Lota Fehoko. Popularly known as …. Lota. I am full Tongan. I am forty-three years old, happily married with six children.
As a caregiver or community support worker, I go to my customers home and care for them with whatever help they may need according to their care plans. I generally help with personal care, household management, and shopping
A normal day in my job would include a variety of tasks such as cleaning of the house, bathing the clients or taking them out for shopping.

At the end of my working day, I like to go home and spend the rest of the afternoon with my children and my partner

My family and work

Cooking, shopping, visiting family & friends, and taking my children to play sports at school and church
My favourite childhood memory would be back in 1991. We had a family reunion in the village where my mum was raised which is called Nomuka. We went by boat, it took about three hours from Tonga to Nomuka.
I wanted to work in the hospital
I would still be working in a restaurant
