This month I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Lesieli Polutele our Clinical Coordinator as Employee of the month, she is simply an amazing Tongan Registered Nurse who makes a lot of difference empowering customers in their homes, their families and our support workers, read her story below.
Also, we sadly had to farewell another staff member in Resource Coordinator & Health & Safety Officer Lisa Takiika who heads back to tertiary training to complete her Diploma in Health & Safety as she wants to pursue this as a career path. All the best from all of us at Pacific Homecare Lisa.
Lastly, we finished August with a visit from an international research team that spent three days with us as part of the “Decent Work Good Care – international approaches to aged care” study. It was led by Professor Sara Charlesworth from RMIT in Melbourne Australia and her team, read more below. It was a privilege to assist the research team to provide and understand a different model of aged care that was very much focused on our customers and workforce with a Pacific and Cultural support framework.
Hopefully, it will help to inform other carers, providers, customers, and families that there is a good range of choices and approaches in support services.
Pacific Homecare is very much committed to Healthier Communities in which our people enjoy a better quality of life.
